All Saints, Great Oakley

All Saints is the Anglican parish church in the rural village of Great Oakley in north Essex. The Grade 1 listed building has a nave dating from the 12th Century and a wooden-topped bell chamber dating from the 18th Century.

Committed to the welcome and safeguarding of all, we are a community of all ages and backgrounds who worship God in a wide range of services. Our mission is to share God's love and to invite everyone to follow Jesus Christ with us. Ours is a beautiful church where the Christian faith has been celebrated for over 800 years, and which has a strong musical tradition and a large choir.

We are committed to safeguarding children and young people and vulnerable adults. The PCC has adopted the Church of England’s policies and best practice on safeguarding. For more information and for details of our Parish Safeguarding Representatives, please see the Safeguarding page.

The churchyard remains open for burials and is maintained in accordance with the diocese’s guidance on conservation and is a haven for a wide range of plants and wildlife.

Our church is open every day of the year from around 8.30am until about 6.00pm or dusk if earlier.;

Our monthly pattern of worship is: Holy Communion twice, a service of the word once and a Family Service also once, which aims to build on the Parish’s close links with the church school.

When there is a fifth Sunday there is a combined service at one of the churches within the benefice.

This can include the Methodist Church at Wix. The school has a regular monthly service in church on a Wednesday afternoon to which parents, families and friends are invited.
