On Remembrance Sunday this year, 8th November 2020, there will be no parade services due to Covid-19 restrictions. We will be holding a service for Remembrance Sunday on Zoom at 9.30am which will include an Act of Remembrance – anyone is very welcome to join us.
In addition to this we are also planning (subject to any government guidelines or restrictions) to hold the following short acts of remembrance.
- Tendring 10.45am outside church
- Great Oakley 10.45 at the War Memorial
- Wix 10.45 at the War Memorial
- Wrabness 10.45 inside church – numbers limited.
In Tendring, Wix and Great Oakley we will not be going into church this year as to maintain social distancing means we would not be able to accommodate many people and no singing would be allowed. The services at the War Memorials will include some of the additional liturgy we would have used in church but will last no more than 20-25 minutes.
Please note: The above services will go ahead provided we are able to complete the necessary risk assessments and provided that the government does not change or implement new restrictions by then. The law allows for multiple groups of 6 people, provided that these groups do not mingle. We would ask you to maintain all social distancing protocols and please would you also wear a face mask. Our desire is to keep everyone safe whilst allowing for this important Act of Remembrance to take place.
